J. Jesus De La Rosa

J. Jesus De La Rosa passed away peacefully on April 18, 2020 at the age of 90. After several months of declining health, he died peacefully with his beloved family by his side.

J. Jesus was born in Agua Prieta, Sonora, Mexico on May 1, 1930.  He did not have the opportunity for much of an education during his early years.  He helped his family out working odd jobs starting at an early age.  His work ethic and desire to take care of his family led to him pursuing his education in Mechanics and move to Nogales, Sonora where he began his career.  After several years there he met the love of his life and were married on December 31, 1957.  They immigrated to the United States of America, he secured employment in Tucson, AZ and moved to start their new life.  They were blessed with 11 children.  They decided on making Nogales, AZ their permanent home and raised their family there. 

J. Jesus was a beautiful soul who always had a bright and infectious smile, he loved to help all those in need and lived to serve others.  He dedicated 40+ years of his life to the Ford Motor Company working as Service Manager for the dealership.  He loved his work and taking care of his customers. He made lifelong friendships which he treasured.  He was a very active and influential person in his community known for his community service work with organizations such as the Kiwanis Club in ambos Nogales and The Shriners Club in Green Valley, AZ.  He was a devoted husband and father and loved to spend quality time with his friends and family. 

J. Jesus was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters and loving wife, Refugio De La Rosa.  He is survived by his sister Maria Esthela De La Rosa de Lopez, his children, Laura De La Rosa, her husband Brooks Lisenbey, J Jesus De La Rosa, Jr his wife, Barbara De La Rosa, Irene D. Salazar, her husband Floyd Salazar, Olivia De La Rosa, Sylvia Marsh, her husband Dr. Patrick Marsh, Daniel De La Rosa, his wife Anna Celina De La Rosa, Carolina D Barnett, her husband Scott T. Barnett, Gabriela D Suarez, her husband, Javier I Suarez, David De La Rosa, his wife Elvira De La Rosa, Maribel De La Rosa, and Esteban De La Rosa, and his wife, Janet De La Rosa, by his 29 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

A visitation for J. Jesus is planned for Friday, April 24, 2020 from 2pm to 5pm at Martinez Funeral Home in Nogales, AZ.  Due to the COVID-19 services will be for immediate family members and for those that would like to honor his life, you are welcome to join us in spirit through Zoom.  A link along with code and password will be provided.
