Jesus L. Valencia, a hardworking and selfless man, passed away on November 11, 2023, in Tucson, Arizona. Born on April 7, 1941, in Queen Creek, Arizona, and later moved to Douglas, Arizona where he grew up, married, and raised his family. Jesus led a remarkable life full of dedication and love for his family and community.
At a young age, Jesus worked in the cotton fields after school. Despite the challenges he faced, his strong work ethic and determination shone brightly. He later found his passion in construction and became a skilled pipefitter. Jesus spent many years contributing to the growth and development of his community through his work.
After retiring from the construction industry, Jesus decided to return to work and found fulfillment at Lynn-Urquidez Elementary School. He served the school with unwavering commitment, offering guidance and support to all those around him.
Outside of his professional life, Jesus was known to always lend a helping hand. He took great joy in encouraging his children to always work hard and do their best. In his recent years he enjoyed teaching his stepchildren the art of fixing things around the house. He was a very active grandfather and never missed a birthday party, school performance, baseball game, award ceremony and graduation.
In his leisure time, Jesus embraced nature and loved engaging in outdoor activities such as fishing, hunting and camping with loved ones. He found solace in his daily walks where he befriended other walkers along the way.
Jesus served in the Army National Guard proudly defending his country with honor and integrity. His military service showcased his bravery and devotion to protecting others.
Those who preceded Jesus in death include his parents Miguel and Guadalupe Valencia; siblings Juan Valencia, Manuel Valencia, Guadalupe Valencia, and Dolores Valencia; sons Jesus “Chuyito” Valencia, Rafael Valencia, and Roberto Valencia; and his granddaughter Clarissa Valencia. Though their absence brings sorrow, the memories shared with Jesus will forever be cherished.
Jesus leaves behind a loving and devoted family who will continue to carry on his legacy. Surviving him are his children Leticia Reyna Cruz (Marcelo), Rosa Maria Lomeli (Mario), Richard Valencia, Raul Valencia, and Rene Valencia (Barbara) and mother of his children Carolina M. Valencia. He is also survived by his siblings Petra Hernandez, Consuelo Anguiano (Juan), and Margie Valencia. Additionally Jesus leaves behind his life-partner Marlene Loza, and his step-children Angelina Loza, Phillip Loza, and Daniel Loza.
Jesus was immensely proud of his grandchildren Marcelo Rafael, Maritza, Rene ''Ray," Hector, Mario Jr.(Dulce), Jesus Miguel Sr., Angelina, Andrew, and Marina. Their accomplishments brought him immeasurable joy. The great-grandchildren Khloe, Giselle, Dominic, Eduardo, Andrea, Anne, Jazlynn, Nalani, Mario III, Jesus Miguel; and great-great-grandchildren Devine, Nitzya, Phillip, Naomi, Melina were a source of abundant happiness in Jesus's life.
Harley, Apollo, Roxy and Smokey were Jesus's beloved fur babies who provided unconditional love and companionship throughout the years.
A Memorial Service to honor Jesus L. Valencia's life will be held on November 27th, 2023 at Martinez Funeral Chapels in Tucson. The service will commence at 10:00 AM with friends and family gathering to pay their respects until 12:00 PM. The address is 2580 S. 6th Ave in Tucson.
In the memory of Jesus L. Valencia, let us remember his dedication to hard work, his unwavering love for his family, and his willingness to help others. Though he has left this world, his legacy will continue to inspire and impact the lives of all those who were fortunate enough to know him. Rest in peace, Jesus L. Valencia, your kind soul will be deeply missed.
