John R. Rivas

John R. Rivas, 84, of Tucson passed away on July 9, 2019. John was born here in Tucson in 1934 and attended Tucson High School. John was a jack of many trades; he worked in housekeeping, delivery business, top chef in the Marana Military Base, also worked as a cook and he was a farmer for over 16 years. He had several hobbies; gardening, movies, casino games, listening to different kinds of music Frank Sinatra being his favorite. He loved taking care of his kids, grand kids and great-grand kids. John was a very religious man who prayed his rosary daily. John will be missed by everyone who knew him especially his immediate family. John is survived by his 4 kids; Carolina, Robert, John and his wife Lisa. Maria and her husband Raul, also survived by his 2 sisters; Socorro and Mary, also survived by his grandchildren Gilbert and his girlfriend Jewels, Heather and her partner Steven, Erica and her partner Nathaniel, Kristina and her husband Adam, Kassandra and her partner Josh, Eric and Stephanie, Francisco and his partner Samantha, Nadia and her partner Frank, Makayla, Tina, Aaron and his wife Caitlyn, Elizabeth, Amanda and her partner David, Gabriel, Richard and his wife, Michelle and her husband Mike, also 34 great-grand children. John will be missed dearly he was a great man and father and grandfather to everyone who knew him.  Funeral services will be on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Augustine Cathedral followed by a burial at Holy Hope Cemetery.
