Jorge Alberto Chavez, a beloved son, brother, husband, father, and, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2024, in Nogales, Arizona. He was 69 years old at the time of death. Born on December 9, 1954, in Nogales Sonora, Jorge devoted his life to the people he cherished the most—his family and friends.
Jorge was well-known for his incredible work ethic and great sense of humor. He approached life with an enthusiasm that was infectious, bringing joy to everyone around him. His love for family was paramount, and he relished every moment spent with them, particularly during the festive Christmas season, which he embraced with a passion for decorations and warmth.
He enjoyed nurturing his garden, a reflection of his dedication to growth and beauty, much like the love he cultivated within his family. Jorge often made time to be with his childhood friends, fostering bonds that lasted a lifetime. Family memories were precious treasures for him, and he was often found dedicating quality time to them—whether it was gathering for holiday celebrations or simply enjoying the tranquility that came from being together.
Jorge leaves behind a loving family who carry on his legacy. He is survived by his son, Jorge A. Chavez Jr. Daughter in law Rosa Yepiz; daughter, Vanessa Chavez Son in law Anibal Garrido; brother, Jesus Chavez; and sisters, Lupita, Diana, and Lourdes Chavez. His grandchildren, Itzel, Ivan, and Sofia Chavez, will forever hold dear the fond memories of their grandfather’s laughter and the lessons he imparted.
Among those who welcomed him into eternal rest are his dear wife, Alicia Chavez, and his parents, Juanita and Daniel Chavez. He also joins his beloved brothers—Daniel, Hector, Marco, and Jose Luis Chavez—who have preceded him in death.
As we gather to celebrate Jorge's life, his dedication to family, respect for hard work, and his vibrant spirit will remain in the hearts and minds of all who knew him. The visitation will be held on September 10, 2024, at Martinez Funeral Chapels in Nogales from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM, followed by a Mass at San Felipe de Jesus Parish at 2:00 PM.
Though he may no longer walk amongst us, Jorge Alberto Chavez’s legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty will continue to thrive in the many lives he touched.
