Jorge Zazueta, born on March 7, 1937, in Guaymas, Sonora, Mexico, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2025, in Tucson, Arizona. He lived a life rich in love, family, and dedication to his work, leaving behind a legacy that will be treasured by all who knew him.

In his youth, Jorge pursued boxing, a testament to his spirited and competitive nature. Following his athletic endeavors, he served as a police officer in Mexico, displaying a commitment to public service and the well-being of his community. Later, Jorge transitioned into the construction industry, where he channeled his creativity and craftsmanship into building beautiful Spanish-style homes, which stand as enduring symbols of his diligence and skill.

Jorge's personality was marked by warmth and simplicity.  Although he was perhaps not known for his sense of humor, his adoration for his family brought joy and light into their lives. He held a special fondness for his beloved wife, Ercilia, whose cooking he particularly treasured.

A passionate gardener, Jorge found joy in working with plants and landscaping. His green thumb not only beautified his surroundings but also brought a sense of tranquility to his life. He looked forward to his travels to San Carlos every October with his wife and daughter, Isabel.

Jorge is survived by his two daughters, Salome Zazueta and Patricia Zazueta, along with his twin sons and grandchildren who he adored. He leaves behind his siblings: Caroline Valverde Perez (Rene D. Perez), Robert Cañez Valverde (Cindy), Isabel Valverde Martinez (David), Evangelina Cañez Valverde, Jesus "Jesse" Cañez Valverde, Adam Cañez Valverde (Reyna), and Alejandra Cañez Valverde, as well as many cherished nieces and nephews.

Jorge was preceded in death by his wife, Ercilia and step-daughter, Glerina Romero whose memory remains alive in the hearts of those who loved him.
