Jose Ruben Chavez Beltran

Ruben Chavez Beltran, 89, earned his wings on November 7, 2019 in Nogales, Arizona. He is survived by his wife: Lydia Chavez; Son: Jose Ruben Chavez Jr (Myrna); Daughters: Maria Del Rosario Chavez, Martha Elva Chavez Sharp (Bill) and Leticia Chavez; Brother: Oscar Chavez (Leonor); 6 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren.

Ruben was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother. He had three passions, family, music and learning.  He loved his family unconditionally. They knew him only as a kind, giving, humble and mild-mannered man...an example to follow.  A proud immigrant, he overcame all odds and through hard work and determination flourished into a successful saxophone designer. He was an accomplished Musician who played saxophone with big bands and orchestras for a good part of his life. His love for travel was only surpassed by his love for learning. His curiosity about cultures and peoples was insatiable. All his life he worked hard, he loved hard and he gave this world everything he had. No one can argue that he didn't earn his keep and now, he's earned his rest. May you rest in peace old man. The likes of you are hard to find and impossible to replace.

Rubén fue un esposo, padre, abuelo, bisabuelo y hermano maravilloso. Tuvo tres pasiones...familia, música y aprendizaje. Amo a su familia incondicionalmente. Ellos lo conocieron como un hombre amable, generoso, caballeroso, humilde y prudente...un ejemplo a seguir. Como un buen inmigrante, supero toda adversidad y a través de mucho trabajo y determinación, prospero. Fue un musico consumado que toco saxofón con “Big Band" y orquestras una gran parte de su vida. Su amor por viajar solo era superado por su amor al aprendizaje. Su curiosidad por conocer diferentes culturas y su gente era insaciable. Toda su vida trabajo duro, amo profundamente y le dio al mundo todo lo que tenía. Nadie puede argumentar que no se ganó su sustento y ahora se ha ganado su descanso. Que descases en paz, querido viejo. Los hombres como tu son difíciles de encontrar, pero imposible de reemplazar.
