Josefina D. Rios

Josefina D. Rios, born on September 19, 1942, departed this life on August 16, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and warmth that forever resonate in the hearts of her family and friends. A devoted wife and mother, Josefina cherished spending quality time with her family, particularly during holidays when she would gather loved ones around to share not only meals but also laughter and joyful memories.

Josefina's passion for cooking showcased her love for her family. She found immense joy in preparing delicious meals for family gatherings on weekends and special occasions, creating an inviting atmosphere that brought everyone together. Her culinary talents were complemented by her loving nature, making her home a sanctuary for her loved ones.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Roque M. Rios, who shared countless memories with her throughout their life together. Together, they raised three devoted sons: Rocky Durazo Rios, Roy Durazo Rios, and Osbaldo Durazo Rios, who carry forward their mother’s spirit of unity and love. Additionally, her daughter, Lourdes Rios Garcia, will continue to honor Josefina's legacy through the values and traditions instilled in her family. She is  preceded in death by; daughter, Lidia Rios Barcelo and sons, Oscar Rios and Orlando Rios.

Josefina's family tree flourished with the addition of 21 grandchildren and great grandchildren, all of whom she adored and delighted in spoiling with her love and care. Her bonds with her siblings, including her brothers Rafael Luna Durazo and Antonio Luna Durazo, were also significant in her life, providing support and companionship throughout the years.

Josefina D. Rios will be lovingly remembered for her nurturing spirit, her culinary creations, and the love that she shared so generously with all who knew her. Her memory will live on in the stories recounted by her family during gatherings, embodying the essence of love that she cultivated in her lifetime.
