Both parents proudly worked in the Nogales produce community and raised their seven children in Nogales. Juan graduated from Nogales High School in 1978 and attended Mesa Community College. Shortly after, he started his career working in the family produce business as a salesman in San Diego, California. He got married on August 13, 1983 and was married to Evelyn for 24 years. He and Evelyn raised their children in Phoenix. He graduated with a Bachelor's in Applied Science; with a Network Administration Emphasis from the University of Arizona in 2018. John graduated with the highest distinction of Magna Cum Laude. He was a life-long learner, and he was working on his master's degree at Northern Arizona University.
John adored his family, was passionate, loved adventure, gardening, and was skilled at welding, construction, and electronics. John was a great chef, and most enjoyed cooking for his loved ones and close friends. He was an animal lover and friend to all animals, an excellent musician with an extensive collection of loved songs. He sang, played the piano, and the guitar. John learned to be a great swimmer at the Nogales Public Pool and enjoyed all water sports. He loved scuba diving in San Carlos, Mexico. John enjoyed camping with his dad and his boys, water rafting, swimming, and boating. One of the most memorable moments in his life was when he took his entire family on a rafting trip to Durango Colorado, fishing in Silverton Colorado, and spending time in Telluride Colorado. He is a very proud Tata and super proud of his loving and beautiful children.
He was preceded in death by his little brother Arnie, his first baby girl Yvette, and his mother, Cristina.
Our family is grateful that John did not die alone. We are thankful to Kelly Smith for all she did to love and care for John. We are thankful for his lifetime friends Ricky Burkett and Jaime Sotomayor. Our family will never forget your friendship, kindness, generosity, and love for him.
