Luis Jose Flores (Junior) 76, of Tucson, AZ, passed away on June 25, 2024. Born in San Antonio, Texas, his family settled in Tucson when he was 6 years old. He was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend.

Junior, a proud Army Veteran, served his country in the Vietnam War and Army National Guard. He was awarded a Purple Heart medal for his service. Junior retired from the City of Tucson’s Sanitation Department.

Retiring early in life gave him the ability to do what he loved most, spending time with his family, doing yard work, caring for his many animals, camping, and traveling. He really enjoyed going to watch his grandkids play sports. Being around his family was most important to him as he was usually the first to arrive and last to leave family gatherings. Junior was also a member of the Disabled American Veteran’s (DAV) Chapter 28, where he enjoyed hanging out with his comrades. Having his Bud Light and listening to music was always one of his greatest enjoyments.

Junior leaves behind his partner, Gloria Diane Alderette, daughters Naomi Flores, Monica (Benny) Garcia, Margot (Robert) Arellano, Catalina J. Alvarez Flores, sons Luis (Kellyn) Flores, Tany (Rosie) Flores, Kurly (Melanie) Flores, Jesus Flores, Carlos Flores, Angel Flores, 17 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, sisters Minerva “Mini” Hall, Rachel Huez, Yolanda “China” Salaz and brother Abel Flores.

Preceded in death by parents Luis and Maria Flores, great-granddaughter Za’Naya Flores, great-grandson Rolando Flores, and brothers Jesus Perez, Richard Flores, George Flores, Pablo Flores, Maria “Lulu” Flores, Rosa Flores, and Bertha Rubalcaba.
