Manuel Amaya Natividad, 86, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 4, 2017, at home surrounded by his loving family. Manuel is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years Rose; daughters, Marina, Marlene (Leendert), and Margot; grandchildren, Jonathan, Sabrina and Jack; six sisters and one brother. Manuel was preceded in death by his parents, Ramon and Antonia Natividad; one sister and three brothers. Manuel was a loving father, grandfather, husband, uncle and friend. Manuel was a native Tucsonan and grew up on Meyer Street and Barrio Hollywood. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion Morgan McDermott Post 07. He retired from the City of Tucson after 30 years and enjoyed a long and peaceful retirement. He enjoyed gardening, NCIS, chiltepin peppers on everything he ate, his brother Tony’s verdolagas and a good game of cards. A special thank you to the VA of Southern Arizona, Heartland Hospice and Most Holy Trinity Parish for all of their assistance. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church at 9:00 a.m., with a Rosary recited at 10:00 a.m. and a Mass at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at 12:00 p.m. at Holy Hope Cemetery.
