Manuel Silva Acosta

November 7, 1923 — August 9, 2018

Manuel Silva Acosta was surrounded by his loving family when he was reunited with his beloved wife in Heaven on August 9, 2018.  He is survived by his sons, Manuel Arnoldo Silva and Jose Adan Silva; daughters, Oralia Orozco, Consuelo Enriquez, Maria Camacho, Maria Eva Silva and Gloria Isela Silva; sister, Gabriela Herrera; 15 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.  Preceded in death by his wife, Armida Villalobos Silva; grandson, Gerardo Silva and great-grandson, Adan Silva.  A wonderful father and very dedicated husband who loved spending time outdoors.  His family's fondest memories of him were made at the ranch that he would take them to as children. In his younger years, he would always be seen wearing a cowboy hat and dressed with western attire.  A very giving gentleman who expressed his love to his bride of 67 years by always holding her hand and they were never seen apart.  Together they would make tamales and gift their young children with baskets filled with homemade pipitoria, oranges and candy.  He could play the guitar and had an admiration for horses.  Shrimp, seafood and the occasional Tecate were some of his favorites as well as dining out at Chinese restaurants.  Although it is very difficult to say "goodbye" we are at peace knowing you are with mom in Heaven.  Thank you for being the best father, grandfather and great-grandfather to us.
