It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother Maria Jesus Parra. Our Mother was born December 9th,1933 in Sonora, Mexico. She came to the United States in the mid to late 1950’s. Shortly after she met and married the love of her life, Francisco P. Parra. Together they had four daughters and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Our Mother loved children and babysat for many working mothers over the years.
Our Mother was a loving, compassionate, and spiritual person who lived her life for God and her family. She was very active in her church and served as a Catechist, Eucharistic minister and Lector. She was a Cursillista and a Guadalupana. Her relationship with God was so important to her, that even during her darkest battle with Alzheimer’s she never forgot her faith. She continued to pray daily.
Our Mother is preceded in death by; her parents Refugio Silva, Teresa Valenzuela Alvarez, Stepfather Jose R. Alvarez and her loving husband Francisco Parra.
She is survived by her daughters; Lupita, Lorena, LuzElena (David) and Sylvia. Her grandchildren; Stephanie, Belina (Kenny Saxinger), Jessica (Kenny Wade Whetton), Ricardo (Jeanette Calderon), Veronica, Francisco Rafael, David Emilio (Maria Jimenez), and Jennifer Elena. Her great-grandchildren; Diego, Julien, Ryan, Alejandro, Ysabella, Aidan, Vicente, Mateo, Ricardo Antonio and Octavio.
Our mother is also survived by many extended family and friends. Our family would like to thank; Aria Hospice for their support, Billy Robinson, her wonderful caseworker; Vilma Gonzalez and Norma Rodriguez, her caregivers. We are grateful to all of you.
