Roberto "Choclo" Moreno

Roberto L. "Choclo" Moreno, 82, went home to meet his Lord and Savior on June 14, 2019.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Rebecca G. Moreno; sons, Mario Moreno (Anita), Rudy Zaras (Eliza), Robert Moreno and Jesus Moreno (Myra); daughters: Sylvia Cota (Frank), Dolores Moreno, Becky Austin and Linda Moreno; brother, Frank Moreno; sisters, Sofia Santa Cruz and Guadalupe Camacho; 20 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.  Choclo was a devoted husband, loving father and caring grandfather.  A talented musician who enjoyed singing and performing; playing at the Shakey's restaurant on weekends in his younger years.  He was a successful business owner of his company, "Choclo Sheet Metal" because of his integrity, hard work and ethical business sense.  The sole provider for his wife and eight children motivated him to do the best at all he did.  Building the home he raised his family in known as the "Moreno Ranch".   He became very well-known and very well-respected because people knew he was dependable as well as trustworthy.  An avid roper who loved the Rodeo.  Choclo touched many lives and for that will be terribly missed.  May his legacy live on through his family.
