Mary L Duarte

Mary L Duarte, 81, was reunited in Heaven with her husband, Manuel O. Duarte; son, Manuel "Nick" Duarte; parents, Reynaldo and Ramona Lucero; and siblings, Johnny Lucero, Larry Lucero, Margaret Ramirez and Connie Rodriguez on July 25th, 2018.  She leaves behind to cherish her memory; her daughters; Yvonne (Fernando) Grijalva, Geraldine (Rodney) Karttunen and Cecilia Duarte; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Reynaldo (Rosie) Lucero and sister-in-law, Helen Lucero as well as many relatives and friends.  She may be physically gone, but her memories will live forever in the hearts of all those she touched.

Mary was a very spiritual person who dedicated a lot of her time to the church and never went a day without praying the rosary. Such a loving and caring person who became "mom" to many people.  She enjoyed listening to mariachi music and talking about her life stories.  Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren had a very special place in her heart.  The family would like to extend their gratitude to so many people that stood by their side during Mary's illness.  Too many names to mention but a couple that really touched their hearts were the St. Mary's Hospital 3rd floor nurses in the 3000 wing, Arizona Family Hospice and At Home Health Care.  

Services entrusted to Martinez Funeral Chapels-Tucson. On August 11, 2018, A rosary will be recited at 9:00 a.m. at St Augustine's Cathedral followed by a Mass Celebration at 9:30 a.m.  Burial will take place at Holy Hope Cemetery at approximately 11:00 a.m.
