Maximiliano "Max" Anaya, a cherished husband, father, and grandfather, passed away October 20, 2024 at the age of 92. Born on May 7, 1932, in Mexico, Max embodied a spirit of warmth and humor that endeared him to many.

For 21 years, Max dedicated his career to Caterpillar, where he not only contributed his expertise but also shared his vibrant personality with colleagues and friends. His sense of humor was a trademark, often brightening the lives of those around him and creating an atmosphere of joy in both his personal and professional interactions.

Max had a profound love and respect for the American flag, a sentiment rooted deeply in his immigrant journey. He was a passionate supporter of the Diamondbacks, finding joy in their triumphs and sharing that delight with his family. Among his various interests, Max had a particular affection for steam engine trains, a hobby that brought him great joy and nostalgia.

Above all, Max’s greatest pride and joy were his family. He is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Maria Elena Anaya, with whom he shared a loving partnership. Together, they raised a wonderful family that includes their daughter, Susie Valdez (Carlos #8), and sons, Frank Anaya (Deborah), Jimmy Anaya (Christine), Carlos Anaya, Max Anaya Jr.(Karla), Mark Anaya (Yvette), and Andy Anaya. Max was also a proud grandfather to Alex, Danny, Joe, Alyssa, Chris, Juliana, and Markie, and he delighted in the joy of being a great-grandfather to five great-grandchildren.
