Mayra Camarillo, a shining light in the lives of those who knew her, passed away on May 20, 2024 in Rio Rico, Arizona. Born in Nogales Sonora on April 4, 1974, she was a dedicated employee at the Arizona Department of Agriculture where she spent five fulfilling years as an accounting specialist.
Mayra's legacy extends far beyond her professional accomplishments. She was known for heravering dedication to her family, especially her three daughters - Mayra Alicia Lopez, Jennifer Lopez, and Destiny Vazquez - and her four beloved grandchildren - Marcus Corella, Jade Natalie Corella, Levi Alexander Araiza, Mikael Antonio Andrade. Her radiant personality, sense of humor, and charming presence left an indelible mark on everyone she met.
In her free time, Mayra found joy in being surrounded by loved ones at family gatherings and social events. Music was a significant part of her life; singing and dancing were expressions of her free-spirited nature that she shared with those around her. She was independent, loving, caring, responsible, outgoing, intelligent, funny - always the life of the party.
One of Mayra's proudest accomplishments was raising her daughters single-handedly. She was also in the process of achieving another milestone - becoming a homeowner through Chicanos Por La Causa - just two months away from completing this dream.
Mayra is preceded in death by her parents Jose H Camarillo and Alicia Leo Rubio. She is survived by her daughters, grandchildren as well as her sister Marisa Martinez and brothers Arturo Camarillo, Norberto Camarillo, and Alejandro Camarillo.
Services to honor and remember Mayra will be held at Martinez Funeral Chapels in Nogales for visitation on June 3rd from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The Mass will take place at San Felipe de Jesus Parish on June 4th starting at 2:00 PM with the service ending at 3:00 PM.
Mayra's presence will be deeply missed but the memories of her love and light will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
