Norma Carrasco, born on May 22, 1939, in Tucson, Arizona, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2024. She grew up in Barrio Hollywood, in the house her father built, where she developed a deep sense of community and family. At the age of 12, Norma made a profound decision to dedicate her life to service and joined the convent, where she spent thirteen years. Following her time in the convent, she pursued higher education and became a dedicated elementary school teacher. Norma spent many years teaching in East Los Angeles, where she inspired countless children with her passion for education and commitment to their growth. As the second youngest of six siblings, Norma was the last of her family to pass away. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Lisa Rodriguez Hayes, along with five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Norma also cherished her many nieces, nephews, and cousins, who will remember her with love. A Funeral Service for Norma Carrasco will be held at 10 a.m. on November 6 at St. Margaret’s Church, located at 801 N. Grande Ave, Tucson, AZ. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Holy Hope Cemetery. A Funeral Repast will be held at Martinez Funeral Chapels, located at 2580 S. 6th Ave, Tucson, AZ. Norma’s legacy of love, kindness, and dedication to education will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
