Olga Granado Mendibles, a beloved figure in her community and cherished matriarch of her family, passed away on October 25, 2024 at the age of 82 in Tucson, Arizona, where she was born on February 13, 1942.
Olga devoted two decades of her life to Safeway, serving diligently as a deli clerk and manager, where her warm smile and unwavering dedication enriched the lives of her colleagues and customers alike. Known for her nurturing spirit, Olga was a woman of remarkable qualities; her pure soul and selfless nature made her a pillar of support for those around her.
She was a proud graduate of Pueblo High School and found joy in various interests throughout her life. Olga loved reading, often losing herself in the pages of a good book, and engaged in spirited discussions about politics. Many fondly remember her love for leisure activities such as visiting the casino, indulging in ice cream from Dairy Queen, and enjoying her favorite television shows, including "Wheel of Fortune" and "90 Day Fiancé."
Memorable moments with her family were infused with love and laughter. One story that stands out was her playful deception of telling her family they were running errands when, in fact, they were headed to the casino. It was these lighthearted adventures that showcased her sense of humor and the joy she brought to those around her.
Olga's legacy endures through her devoted family. She leaves behind her sons, Tommy Mendibles Jr. and Jesus Manuel Mendibles, along with eight grandchildren; Marcos, Jessenia, Gabriel, Lisette, Mercedes, Erika, Arryana and Dominic, who adored her deeply. She is also survived by her siblings: Danny Mesa, Rudy "Wilo" Mendez, Julian G. Mendez Jr., Yolanda Parra, Patsy Urbina, and Cecilia Patino. She is preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Alegria Mendibles.
A loving grandmother, Olga was known for her compassion, generosity, and unwavering loyalty. She consistently offered support and kindness, embodying the virtues of a protective and dependable family member. Her beautiful spirit touched many, and she will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
As we honor Olga's memory, we celebrate the incredible impact she had on her family and the broader community. Her legacy of love, laughter, and resilience will remain in our hearts forever.
