Olivia Estella Loroña Mora DeAnda, a devoted mami, grandma, friend, and community advocate, left this world on September 11, 2024, at the age of 88. Born on October 2, 1935, in Lerdo, Durango, Mexico. Olivia dedicated her life to social services and championing the needs of women and children. Her heart knew no bounds, and her love extended far beyond her immediate family to encompass the many individuals she touched throughout her life. A tenacious entrepreneur, she embodied the spirit of empowerment, setting an example for all. Olivia not only loved children but was an incredible role model and teacher. She was inspiring and influential her passion touched the minds of many.


Olivia was known for her lively and loving personality. Her unwavering strength and selflessness left an unforgettable mark on everyone who crossed her path. She radiated light and accentuated an energy that had a gravitational pull sharing a love unlike any experience. Among those who treasured her were her adoring eight children; Vivi Cazares (Ruben), Monica Valenzuela, Ivonne Martinez Murray, Claudia Valenzuela, Thelma Howley, and Hector Valenzuela. With each of them, she shared not only her love but also countless life lessons, illuminated with her cherished metaphors and sayings.

Olivia's door was always open, welcoming family and friends alike, who often found a haven in her presence. She was blessed with many gifts including a beautiful voice, playing the piano, and enjoyed dancing with her castañuelas. You would often find her singing along with mariachi groups any chance she could. Olivia was an extremely talented chef who loved to cook. She was also an incredible seamstress who hand-crafted many of her children's and grandchildren's clothes. She took so much pride in her ranch, providing a kingdom and sanctuary to all. She found comfort and harmony in tending to her home, from her beloved peacocks to her pool oasis. She hosted many holidays, countless celebrations, and endless dinner gatherings. The everlasting moments at the rancho are memories to be cherished forever and always.

Her legacy shines brightly through her grandchildren who number 24 strong; Rubencito (Angelica), Jenna Marie (Ramon), Marques, Nicholas, Anthony, Andre (Michelle), Chachi, Victor, Shani, Vanessa, Lil Ray, Aniza, Karissa, Sammy (Roger), Synthia (Robert), Angel (Natalie), Adrian Nathaniel (Karilen), Erika Erikusha (Aerick), Babyboy Fernando, Gabriela (Jorge), Jesse James (Kelsie), Anthony, Stephanie, and Lil Hector, as well as her great-grandchildren, including Cito, Ari, Jazi, Aidan, Nyza, RJ, Andreya, Geraldi, Nehasi Moi, Sade, Loma, Brandon, Julian, Bobby, Amira, Skylar, Jaylyn Olivia, Aubry, Adrian, Aerick, Ashton, Julian, Jay, and Ezra James. Her first great-great-granddaughter, Mila, also holds a special place in her heart. Along with many of her beloved nieces and nephews.

Olivia's greatest achievements were woven into the lives of her beautiful family, whom she successfully raised against all odds as a single mother. She devoted herself to keeping her family united through trials and triumphs alike. She loved attending Church and was devoted to her religion and faith in God. She was a witty, selfless, and independent woman who will be cherished in the hearts of all who loved her. She celebrated each milestone with joy and pride, and her spirit will forever be a guiding light for generations to come.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Abraham Loroña; her cherished children, Veronica Snowden and Ramon Valenzuela; sons-in-law, Chuck Snowden, Mike Bracamonte, Bobby Murray Jr., Fernando A. Torres, and Tom Howley; her parents, Jesus and Ramona Mora; and siblings. Their memories, intertwined with her own, are now treasured pieces of her extraordinary journey of life.

Olivia had a zest for life that was contagious. She loved dancing, singing, traveling, and enjoying the culinary arts long before the term "foodies" became popular. Her graceful, vivacious, and beautiful spirit will be celebrated during visitation on September 17, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Martinez Funeral Chapels in Tucson, AZ. A rosary will be recited on September 18, 2024, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 9:30 AM, leading into a Mass at 10:00 AM, where all who knew and loved her can come together to honor her memory. There will be a Celebration of Life following mass services at 3555 S. Irene Blvd Tucson, AZ 85735.

As we say goodbye to Olivia, we carry with us the passion of life she so generously imparted. Her unwavering love and commitment to others resonate in our hearts, ensuring that her spirit lives on through each of us to infinity.
