Pedro Ballesteros Martinez, a beloved painter and volunteer for the Cruz Roja Mexicana, passed away on July 16, 2023 in Nogales, Arizona. He was born on August 26, 1935 in Guaymas, Sonora, Mexico.
Pedro had an exceptional talent for drawing and painting. He poured his heart into his artwork and created beautiful masterpieces that touched the souls of those who beheld them. His passion for art was evident in every stroke of his brush and every pencil mark on the canvas.
Beyond his artistic pursuits, Pedro dedicated himself to serving others as a volunteer for the Cruz Roja Mexicana. His selflessness knew no bounds as he tirelessly worked to provide aid and support to those in need. Pedro's commitment to helping others made a significant impact on many lives and earned him tremendous respect within the community.
Pedro will be fondly remembered for his love of making piñatas and sharing this joy with others. He cherished the time spent with his grandchildren, teaching them about tools, cars, and the wonders of life. Pedro's family held a special place in his heart, and he enjoyed nothing more than spending quality time with them. Singing along with the radio in the morning brought a sense of happiness to his daily routine.
Traveling with his family was one of Pedro's greatest pleasures. Exploring new places together created unforgettable memories that will be treasured by all who were fortunate enough to share those experiences with him. Additionally, Pedro found immense joy in playing with his grandchildren, brightening their days with laughter and love.
Those who knew Pedro will remember him as a kind, cheerful, and friendly individual. His infectious sense of humor brought smiles to countless faces. Pedro had a knack for jokes and never missed an opportunity to make people laugh. He had an affinity for spicy food, particularly enjoying his wife's culinary creations seasoned generously with chiltepin.
Pedro is survived by his loving spouse, Norma Ballesteros, and their children: Pedro Ballesteros (Soraya), Enrique Ballesteros (Mari), Oscar Ballesteros (Nora), Diana Ballesteros, Sonia Ballesteros, Haidee Martinez (Adolfo), and Perla Atondo (Fernando). He also leaves behind cherished grandchildren: Elias Ballesteros, Stephanie Ballesteros, Eduardo Ballesteros, Katia Ballesteros, Steve Ballesteros, Carolina Ballesteros, and Oscar Ballesteros. In addition to his grandchildren, Pedro was blessed with great-grandchildren Gael Atondo, Daniel Atondo, and Dariel Atondo.
The visitation services for Pedro will be held on July 21, 2023 at Martinez Funeral Chapels in Nogales. The first visitation session will take place from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM, followed by the second session from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM. A Mass in honor of Pedro's life will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nogales at 2:00 PM. The burial ceremony will then take place at Nogales City Cemetery at 3:30 PM.
Pedro's vibrant spirit and immense contributions to both the art world and the community will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his soul find eternal peace as his memory continues to inspire and uplift us.
