Pete (Billy) Godoy, lifelong resident of Tucson, AZ was unexpectedly taken from us on August 4th, 2024. He leaves behind his loving wife of 61 years, Lily Godoy. Pete was a dedicated Husband, Son, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, soon to be Great-Great-Grandfather, Brother and Friend. He lived a beautiful life with his wife by his side and was always surrounded by his family. He enjoyed spending time with his son on Saturdays going to car shows or cheering on his grandkids at their sporting events. You could usually find him outside tending to his yard or watering his chiltepin plant. When he wasn’t shining up his 1965 Ford mustang he would be in the kitchen taste testing nanas fresh tortilla gorditas. He also took great pride in being the only one in the family that could make the tamale masa float. He cherished his visits and conversations with his childhood best friend, Mike Acedo and brother-in-laws, Ron Lamotte and Louie Verdugo. Some of our best memories of him will be the stories of his childhood, growing up in Barrio Anita with his brothers. We were so very blessed to have such an amazing man, he was a wonderful husband to our beautiful Nana. He was a good hearted person, always thoughtful and considerate of others. We were so lucky to have you Tata, you will be loved and missed forever.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Albino, Jesus “Chu", in-law’s, Atilano and Amalia Bonillas; his infant son, Joseph Mario Godoy, sister, Rosario, brothers, Joe “Chito”, Jesus “Chuchi”, Albino Jr “Lolo”, and Arturo. He is survived by his sons, Guillermo and Charlie (Martha) Godoy. Grandchildren Guillermo “BJ” , Nicholas, Carlos, Valerie, and Peter Godoy. Great grandchildren Isaiah, Lily, Anthony, Andrew, Amaya, Alex, Ariyana, Angelo, Ella and Gunner. Sisters Velia (Freddy) Vega, Manuela Hernandez. Brothers Augustine, Robert (Chavela), George, and Salvador. Brother in laws Ronald Lamotte and Louie Verdugo. As well as many loving godchildren, nieces, nephews and life long friends.
