Rafael “Ralph” Barreda born in Nogales, Arizona March 7, 1946, earned his wings December 28, 2022 in Rio Rico, Arizona. He attended Nogales Public Schools and the University of Arizona and was a member of the “Pride of Arizona” marching band. He was the Band Director in the Commack, New York School District returning to Nogales, Arizona in 1978 to work in the produce industry with his father, eventually owning Barreda Marketing. He was an avid golfer, participating in many tournaments and willing to give pointers and tips whether asked or not!
He was preceded by his parents, Lucas and Armanda Barreda. Survived by his wonderful wife of 43 years Eva, son Michael, sisters Lourdes Garrett and Amalia Barreda, and numerous family and friends. He has physically left but will continue to live in the hearts of all those he has touched and pissed off.
Memorial service will be held Saturday, January 21st at 2:00 p.m. at the Rio Rico Medical and Fire District Station #2, 957 Calle Calabasas, Rio Rico, Az. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saint Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 800 Taylor Drive, Sierra Vista, Az., 85636 or the Santa Cruz Humane Society, 232 E. Patagonia Highway, Nogales, Az., 85621
