Ramona Durazo

September 3, 1922 — March 5, 2018

Ramona Durazo, 95, was reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, Alejandro Durazo on March 5, 2018.  She is survived by her sons, Alex Durazo, Jr. (Vivian), Jesus Maria Durazo and Luis Antonio Durazo (Myrna); daughters, Rosa Maria Grijalva (Marco Antonio), Yolanda Castro and Rosario Durazo (Percival Palma); 21 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. Ramona was only able to attend school up to the 3rd grade but did not allow that to stop her from learning.  She continued to read and became self-taught.  She enjoyed listening to the news on television and reading the daily newspaper to keep up with current events, locally and abroad.  Ramona was a very good seamstress and would make beautiful dresses for her daughters.  She lovingly raised six children and made sure they were fed with their favorite home-cooked meals.  She also managed to save enough money to give to each of her children as an inheritance without having to work outside her home.  Ramona was very organized and took great care of her finances.  She installed faith in her home that she shared with the love of her life, Alejandro until his passing in 1998.  They were an exemplary couple that showered each other with love; Ramona saved all of the beautiful love letters and cards that he gave her throughout their 52 years of marriage.  Her grandchildren brought so much joy to her heart and she loved them dearly.  Although it's very difficult to say, "goodbye", there is comfort knowing she's back in the arms of her wonderful husband.
