Raquel M. Gerardo

Raquel M. Gerardo, 88, passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2018. She was called to eternal rest to be with our Lord in Heaven. Raquel was born in Nogales, Sonora, MX, on February 10,1930, and was one of twelve siblings, and proceeded in death by 10 of her siblings. She is also preceded in death by her youngest son Martin, and grandson Carlitos. She is survived by her husband Jose F. Gerardo of 67 years and seven of her children, George (Giovanna), Lupe (A.C.), Jose, Rachel (Gary), Esther (Rafael), Richard (Jeannette), & Patricia (Manuel), by her sister Bertha Lopez, eighteen grandchildren, and twenty-one great-grandchildren. Raquel was a devout Catholic, she volunteered her time in the Alter Society & prayer group of her parish Santa Cruz. Raquel was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and went above and beyond for her loved ones, bringing joy and happiness to all. She welcomed into her home everyone with open arms and great joy and loved to cook. Raquel will never be forgotten and will live always in our hearts. The family expresses their gratitude and appreciation to the people at Remita Hospice Care and thanks all the staff for taking care of their beloved mother. Services will begin on Monday, October 15, 2018, at Martinez Funeral Chapels in Tucson with a visitation from 5:00 p.m. till 9:00 p.m. Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Mass Celebration will be held on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at Santa Cruz Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. with burial interment to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery.
