Ray R. Rodriguez, a beloved member of the Tucson community, passed away on July 1, 2024, in his hometown of Tucson, AZ. He was born on May 29, 1950, to his loving parents Horacio and Ofelia Rodriguez in Tucson.
Ray lived a remarkable life filled with experiences that shaped him into the person he was known to be. He graduated from Tucson High School before courageously serving in the United States Marine Corps during Vietnam. His dedication and service to his country were a testament to his strong character and sense of duty.
Described affectionately by his brother as a Tasmanian Devil but he loved him very much. Ray's lively spirit and unique personality left a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His proudest accomplishments included paying off his home, an achievement he celebrated with joy by indulging in a couple of root beer floats with his brother, Richard, a simple joy that reflected his down-to-earth nature.
Ray Rodriguez was preceded in death by his parents, Horacio and Ofelia Rodriguez, as well as his brother, Frank Rodriguez. He is survived by his brothers, Richard and Larry Rodriguez; many nieces and nephews; as well as numerous carnales and babydolls who held a special place in his heart.
Services will be on Saturday, July 13, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Martinez Funeral Chapels, 2580 S. 6th Avenue, Tucson, AZ.
In honoring Ray's memory, let us remember his vibrant spirit, unwavering loyalty to family and friends, and the indelible mark he left on all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with him. May he rest in peace knowing that he is fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew him.
