Raymond A. Miranda

May 27, 1934 — January 7, 2022

Raymond, 87 our beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away peacefully on January 7, 2022. Born in Mesa, AZ where he spent most of his childhood playing daring games with his nephews, jumping off rooftops and, chicken coops, or swimming in the canals. Building scooters or go carts out of crates and roller skate wheels they would “borrow” from the nieces. He had the most extraordinary gift of storytelling; where he would make you feel as though you were there by describing even the smallest of details. He brought to life each and every story. Our hearts are saddened as he leaves behind a loving family who will forever miss him and his most delicious cooking. He was charitable and kind. He was always willing to help anyone in need and perhaps, most importantly, he did these deeds silently to invoke dignity towards those he was assisting. He never complained about any situation. He just continued to work hard and steady without the expectation of recognition and always staying true to his silent nature. He is survived by his 3 children: Ana Maria Miranda, Ramón Gerardo Miranda (Zaira) and Cecilia Miranda (Estevan Yslas). He had 5 grandchildren all of whom always made him so proud: Lizette M. Yslas (Yohanis Blanco Alvarez), Victor G. Miranda (Mayra I. Calvillo), Martyn I. Miranda (Emerynrose Gepilano), Lupita Miranda, and Sayra M. Miranda. He also had one great-grandchild, Yohanis Lázaro Blanco, Jr, for whom he loved to make his famous sopita every weekend. He had countless nieces and nephews who lovingly knew him as Tio/Uncle "Mon". He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years, Cecilia M. Miranda; parents: Victor Manuel and Ramona Abril Miranda; siblings: Manuel Miranda, Maria Valencia, Brigido Miranda, Nelly Zozaya, Virginia Campos, Annie Trevizo and Henry Miranda. The void he leaves will never be replaced. Thank you Papá and Tata, for all your love and kindness and always setting the greatest example of a genuine family man.
