Rene Felix Martinez

Rene Felix Martinez, 73, passed away December 8, 2017 in his home of 39 years. Rene was the husband to Lorraine Martinez with whom he shared 51 years of marriage. Born December 10, 1943 in Tucson, AZ son to Elvira Felix and Raul Martinez. He graduated from Pueblo High School after which he married his wife Lorraine and pursued a career at Duval Mine. After 42 years at the mine working as a Heavy Machinery Operator he entered retirement. Meeting many great coworkers who became great friends to Rene. Many who visited from time to time just to chat or catch up with the cowboy. He is survived by his wife Lorraine, brother Ruben, sisters Bertha and Rosie, children Gabriel, Adrian, and Christian, grandchildren Ashley, Clarissa, Gabriel Jr., Adrian Jr., Analisa, Mariah, Kristian, Josie, and Ruben, also great-grandchild Sophia. He is remembered for his wise cracks and lovely conversation, He never failed to make someone smile and laugh even with his dry humor. He loved having the grandchildren around as they fought over what they were going to watch on tube. Rene never failed at the chance to share his knowledge with anyone. The heavens gained a beautiful angel as we all gained a beautiful guardian angel. He will be missed as we all wait to be reunited with a great man in Heaven. Services will be held Tuesday December 19,2017 at Martinez Funeral Home from 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm
