Ricardo Baeza passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2021, from complications with COPD at the age of 74.
Ricardo was born on May 5, 1947 in Miami, Arizona, to Jesus and Celeste (Estrada) Baeza. After graduating high school he joined the Army where he served his country for 3 years active duty, including 2 years in Alaska, and 3 years in the Army Reserves before being honorably discharged in November of 1972. His affinity for understanding all things mechanical led him to a career "turning wrenches" as a mechanic for companies like Duval Corporation, Kenworth, and eventually the City of Tucson Water Department where he worked for many years as heavy equipment mechanic before retiring. Ricardo enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, and camping, as well as tinkering under the hood of his vehicles.
He is survived by his children, Daniel Baeza, and Kellee Castro, grandson, Anthony Valles, sister, Eva Castro, brother Benjamin Baeza, and sister Lisa Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Jesus Baeza.
A viewing will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a short service and rosary in the last half hour.
