Richard "Dick" Dale Green, aged 68, of Tubac, Arizona, departed this life on October 30, 2024. Born in Merced, California, on December 11, 1955, Dick was a dedicated family man, educator, and vibrant personality who impacted the lives of many.
Dick graduated from Stagg High School in Stockton, California, and furthered his education at San Joaquin Delta College and Stanislaus State. He devoted a significant portion of his career to the Stockton Unified School District, where he worked with special education students until his retirement in 2021. His genuine love for teaching and his remarkable rapport with children made him a beloved figure in the community.
Upon retiring, Dick and his beloved wife, Marilyn Green, relocated to southern Arizona. There, they embraced a new chapter in their lives, enjoying the process of fixing up their home, immersing themselves in the beauty of the native flora and fauna, and forging new friendships. A devoted pet owner, Dick found joy in daily walks with his German Shepherd, Ranger, along the De Anza Trail, often marveling at the stunning Arizona skies, whether they were adorned with clouds, stars, sunrises, or sunsets.
Dick was known for his friendly and outgoing nature, infused with a great sense of humor. He was a kind and caring husband and father, lovingly prioritizing his family above all else. As Marilyn's biggest fan, he provided unwavering support and encouragement throughout her career. He shared countless moments with his son, Joshua, engaging in hobbies such as coaching little league baseball, participating in father-son golf tournaments, and taking up trap shooting together. His love extended to his aging parents, whom he cared for with tenderness and devotion.
Throughout his life, Dick found great pleasure in various interests and hobbies. He relished playing golf, watching "Jeopardy," swimming, cooking, and taking family road trips. Among his passions, vintage European cars held a special place in his heart, with a particular fondness for Porsches and Volvos, of which he owned many over the years. He took great pride in his cars and maintained his yard with diligent care, a reflection of his achievements and dedication.
Dick is survived by his beloved wife, Marilyn Green; sisters, Sue Sherblon (Jim) and Connie Lombardo (Paul). He is preceded in death by his son, Joshua Green; brother, Ron Green; and his parents, James and Jewel Green.
As we honor Dick's memory, we remember a man who lived life with joy, kindness, and an unwavering love for his family. His legacy will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
