Richard Garcia Lopez, known to many as a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend, has sadly passed away on August 10,2024, in Tucson, Arizona. He was born on July 31, 1950, Los Angeles, California.

Richard's entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish Del Sol Masonry, the proud owner for over 30 years, where he embraced the motto "No Bad Days" as his logo. His dedication and hard work shone through in his thriving business, leaving a lasting impact on the community served.

Richard excelled in both football and track at Salpointe Catholic High School, where he graduated in 1968. He furthered his education at Glendale Community College in 1970 before attending the University of Arizona, shaping a path that reflected his commitment to personal growth and learning.

Beyond his professional and academic achievements, Richard's vibrant personality touched the lives of those around him. Known for his friendly and outgoing nature, he easily made friends wherever he went. His adventurous spirit and love for good food and travel brought joy to many, with fishing, golf, and serving as a host in San Miguel de Allende where he resided part-time, being among his cherished pursuits.

As the oldest of 13 siblings, Richard embodied the values of dependability and leadership. His role within his large family shaped him into a reliable and natural leader, traits that endeared him to all who knew him.

Richard's proudest accomplishments extended beyond his business ventures. Not only did he play rugby for the Old Pueblo Rugby Club, but he also left his mark on the community through projects like building an addition to Nogales High School in the mid-80s and constructing many beautiful homes in Tubac Country Club and Green Valley.

Richard will be deeply missed by his loving children, Mike Zimmerman, Emily Lopez, and Noah Lopez, as well as his grandchildren, Elise Martinez and Celene Campos; mother of his children, Elda Lopez. He is survived by his siblings Rachel Lopez, Rosanna Hugo, Marcia Calkin, Armando Lopez, Joey Lopez, Mario Lopez, Gerard Lopez, Marisa Lopez, Christina Lopez, Marty Lopez, and Anissa Lopez, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

In honoring Richard's memory, we remember a man who lived life to the fullest, touched the hearts of many, and left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his legacy of warmth, adventure, zest for life, and honorable leadership continue to inspire us all.

Services to celebrate Richard Garcia Lopez's life will be held at Martinez Funeral Chapels in Tucson on August 13, 2024, with visitation starting at 10:00 AM and a Rosary at 12:00 PM. We gather to honor and remember a remarkable individual whose light will forever shine in our hearts.
