Roman Ortega, a beloved father, brother, and son, left this world far too soon at the age of 32 on January 22, 2025. Born on June 21, 1992, in Tucson, Roman brought joy and love into the lives of those who knew him. He is survived by his cherished sons, Emilio, Raul, and Santiago, who were the light of his life.
Roman’s spirit was bolstered by the love of his family, including his devoted mother, Esther Ortega. He is also mourned by his sisters: Gloria Perez, Paola Cervantez, Veronica Perez, Casandra Ortega, and Armida Ortega, Lydia Burchard, Angie Zimmerman, Diana Taylor and Yolanda Friere, brothers; Robert and Jimmy Ortega who will always remember him as a caring brother and steadfast supporter. Though he is preceded in death by his father, Raul Ortega, Roman's legacy will live on through the hearts of his family.
A dedicated truck driver, Roman poured his heart and soul into his work, committing himself tirelessly to provide for his family. His commitment to his job was matched only by his love for the great outdoors. He found solace and joy in nature, often taking drives up to Mount Lemmon, where he could reconnect with the beauty surrounding him. Roman was known for his adventurous spirit; many described him as a risk-taker who embraced life fully. His passion for adventure extended to his visits to the shooting range, where he expressed his love for challenge and excitement.
As a friend and family member, Roman’s vibrant personality and infectious laughter brightened the lives of many. He was loved for his warmth, kindness, and unwavering support. The memories he created with those around him will be cherished forever. Roman Ortega will be missed dearly, leaving behind a profound emptiness in the lives he touched. His spirit will continue to resonate in the hearts of his sons and his family, reminding them of the love and joy he shared.
