Rosario L. De La Rosa, affectionately known as "Chayito," passed away peacefully on December 2 2024, in Rio Rico, Arizona, at the age of 90. Born on March 17, 1934, in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico, Chayito was a beacon of love and warmth in her family.
Throughout her life, Chayito wore many hats, but perhaps none more cherished than that of a devoted wife, loving mother, and adoring grandmother. Her family was her pride and joy, and her greatest accomplishments were rooted in their happiness and well-being. She can now be reunited with her beloved husband, Ruben P. De La Rosa, with whom she shared 69 wonderful years of marriage, as well as their dear son, Jaime, and cherished daughter, Lourdes. Chayito was also preceded in death by her parents, Francisco and Carmen Lugo, who instilled in her the values of love and resilience.
Chayito possessed a nurturing spirit and found immense joy in caring for her family. Her home was a place filled with love, laughter, and the mouthwatering aroma of her famous tortillas, which she crafted with loving hands. She enjoyed whistling a joyful tune while cooking, a delightful serenade that echoed throughout her household. Gardening provided her solace and satisfaction, and she often relished the peaceful moments spent tending to her plants. She was so good about decorating the house during every holiday.
Her love extended beyond her culinary skills; she had a passion for music and enjoyed singing. In her leisure time, Chayito could be found watching her beloved novelas or "The Price is Right." She loved the beauty in all flowers. Often displaying them on her car's attena.
Chayito is survived by her loving children, Ruben De La Rosa, and his wife Irene, Raul De La Rosa and his wife Lupita, Sandra De La Rosa, and Adriana De La Rosa, as well as Clarissa De La Cruz and her husband Victor, and Daniel De La Rosa and his wife Patricia. She leaves behind a legacy of love in the form of many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom carry her spirit and values forward.
Chayito's unwavering devotion to her family and her joyful presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her laughter, her cooking, and her steadfast love will forever resonate in the hearts of her family, serving as a comforting reminder of the indelible mark she left on their lives. Rest in peace, dear Chayito; your spirit will live on in the cherished memories of your beloved family.
