Rose Boreale, 93, was called home to our Lord on October 3, 2022. She passed peacefully in her sleep after being diagnosed with cancer. Rose was born to Luigi and Angelina Verrone on May 26, 1929 in Paterson, NJ, where she lived for the first two-thirds of her life. She was a pioneer, earning a college degree from the Laboratory Institute of Merchandising in the 1940’s. She began working for Quackenbush’s, a major East-coast department store, as a clothing buyer. In 1955, she married her childhood friend Michael F. Boreale. They settled in Paterson and had their only child, Michael L. Boreale in 1956. Rose worked a librarian for the Paterson Free Public Library for 23 years, until her retirement in 1991. Shortly thereafter, she and Michael relocated to Rio Rico, Arizona where they built a home. Rose was an avid reader and often read multiple books per week. She loved the wildlife in Arizona, especially quails and hummingbirds. She was an accomplished chef, most notably for her Italian food. Family and distant friends alike would join as she hosted homemade pizza Fridays. Most of all, she was a devoted mother to her son Michael and grandmother to her grandchildren. She treated everyone who came to her house like family. She was incredibly generous to people and charitable causes she loved. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Michael, who passed in 2015. She is survived by her son, Michael Boreale (Diva); grandchildren, Michael Boreale, Jr. (Stephanie), Jessie Del Rio, Madeline Del Rio, Jorge Rodriguez and Natalie Rodriguez; and great-grandchildren, Michael Boreale III, Claire Boreale, Michael Anthony Del Rio, Bobby Viera, Olivia Ceballos, Isabella Logsdon and Bryanna Logsdon.
