Sonya M. Gradillas

Sonya M. Gradillas January 23, 1967- September 26, 2017 Sonya was born to parents, Kathryn and Fernando Martinez on January 23, 1967. After a long battle with cancer, Sonya entered into the gates of Heaven on September 26, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Her four children and four grandchildren were her everything. She is preceeded in death by her son Joshua A. Gradillas and sister Kathy Martinez. She is survived by her children; Alexandria (Timothy), Adam and Bernadette (Bobby); grandchildren, Timothy, Josh Jr, Alexia and Joseph; her parents, Kathryn and Fernando Martinez; the loving father of her children, Alex Gradillas; sisters, Terry, Jenny, Debbie and Monica as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was a loving mother who did anything and everything she could for her children. She was the most creative and talented woman and took on many hobbies. There was not ever a time where she was not afraid to speak her mind; she was extremely down to Earth and had a great personality.  She loved with her whole heart. Throughout her battle with cancer she remained positive and hopeful that she would beat cancer, yet again. She was an extremely strong and courageous woman and fought her battle with cancer down to the very end. Unfortunately, God had other plans for her, which involved her not suffering anymore. She will be missed dearly and loved by her children and family always. Services will begin with a Visitation on Thursday, October 12, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Martinez Funeral Chapels. Mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church with a burial to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery.
