Thomas D. Mahoney

Thomas D. Mahoney, 75, passed away on June 10, 2022 in Tucson, Arizona but will be with us forever in spirit. He is survived by his loving wife, Kathy A. Lum; step-son, Matthew and Ferdrica Lum, grandson, Landon; siblings, Robin and Mike McDannel, Mike and Lauri Mahoney, Jay Mahoney and brother in-law, Peter Laustrup; nieces and nephews, Kate and Erin Goergen and their children, Asher and Fiona, Meghan and Damien Powledge and their son, Brooks, Brian and Mia Laustrup and children Hayden, Dominic and Benson, Mary Rose Donahue and Tommy Donahue. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Rosemary O'Connor Mahoney and his sister, Mary Kate Laustrup.

He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and recognized because of his actions receiving the bronze medal for valor and bravery in combat. Tom enjoyed spending time with his friends riding his dune buggy in the desert. Photography was a passion of is and he loved capturing images of nature and wildlife-particularly in Alaska and Arizona. Cooking for his friends brought him close to those he loved. Tom's AA family meant the world to him and he was happy, joyous and free" for 45 years. Tom was a people loving guy. He was faithful and loyal to those he loved. Everyone loved his humor and warmth. Tom was trusted and loved by many and he will be missed.

Burial of his ashes at the Veteran's Memorial Cemetery will be held at a later date in September or October.
