Tomas Patricio Aldana, a loving and caring individual, passed away on January 3, 2024, at the age of 87. He was born on March 17, 1936, in Douglas, Arizona, and took his last breath in Tucson, Arizona. Tomas was a remarkable man who left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him.

Tomas had a fulfilling career that spanned over several decades. He started working for San Manuel Mines and Duval Mines where he trained others after being known as one of the best welders before eventually becoming a highly successful welder. His dedication and passion for his craft led him to establish his own business called Aldana Welding. Tomas' commitment to his work served as an inspiration to many aspiring welders.

Outside of work, Tomas had a variety of interests that brought him joy. He particularly enjoyed solving crossword problems, which challenged his mind and showcased his sharp intellect. In addition to this hobby, Tomas had an undeniable talent for cooking. Those fortunate enough to have tried it will always remember his delicious menudo and mouthwatering salsa.

Family was everything to Tomas, and he cherished every moment spent with them. He possessed a contagious smile that could light up any room, leaving lasting memories in the hearts of those he loved. Tomas took great pride in his children and grandchildren, considering them his proudest accomplishments. His devotion to family was unwavering and formed the foundation of his life.

Tomas also had a mischievous sense of humor and loved making people laugh. He was known as quite the jokester among family and friends. His stubbornness added character to his personality while also displaying his unwavering determination when faced with challenges.

In his younger years, Tomas enlisted in the United States Army where he served with honor and patriotism. His military service demonstrated both his love for his country and his commitment to protecting those dear to him.

Tomas attended Douglas High School in Douglas, Arizona. Although his formal education may have ended there, he possessed a wealth of knowledge and life experiences that served him well throughout his journey.

On January 20, 2024, a Memorial Service will be held at Martinez Funeral Chapels in Tucson, Arizona. Friends and loved ones are invited to pay their respects between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m on that day.

Tomas is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Aurora Aldana; his son, Tommy Aldana; his daughter and son-in-law, Maria Guevara and Jesus Guevara; his grandsons, Tommy Aldana Jr. and Roman Aldana; his son-in-law, Felix Ruiz; and his great-grandson, Vicente Ruiz. Although they have left this world before him, their spirits will forever dwell within the memories Tomas held dear.

Left to cherish Tomas's memory are his daughter, Cynthia Ann Ruiz (Alonzo Inclan); his brothers, Hector Rodriguez (Irma) and Abraham Pena (Juanita); his sister Leila Garcia (Pepe); his grandchildren, Vanessa Aldana, Julissa Cruz (Brain), Felix Andres Ruiz (Lucy), Sergio Antonio Ruiz (Jordan), Ruben Francisco Ruiz, Jesse Guevara, Clarissa Guevara, Eric Guevara and Daniel Mora; his great-grandchildren, Serena Aldana, Dominick Aldana, Roman Aldana (Melyzza), Andrew Aldana, Angel Aldana, Eliana Aldana, Angelica Ruiz, Alexis Ruiz, Victor Gutierrez, Elliana Ruiz, Faith Ruiz, Cash Ruiz, Noah Ruiz,aZneya Cruz and Christian Cruz; his great-great-grandchildren Tomas Aldana, Zara Aldana, Christian Aldana, Tommy Aldana, Alejandro Aldana, Amari Ruiz, Eva Gutierrez and Sophia Ruiz; daughter in-law, Sylvia Flores; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who were touched by his warmth and kindness.

Tomas Patricio Aldana will be remembered as a pillar of strength, a devoted family man, and a passionate worker. His departure has left an enormous void in the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him. While we mourn his loss, let us also celebrate the legacy he leaves behind. May his soul find eternal rest, and may his memory continue to inspire and bring solace to all those whose lives he touched.
