William Michael Ayup 74, was born September 17, 1948 in Tucson, Arizona, and passed away February 3, 2023. He is survived by his loving wife Rose Ayup of 38 years, brothers John Ayup(Jan) and Michael Ayup, sister Dani Mileski (Mike), sons William Ayup Jr.(Kristen), Michael Ayup, Joseph Ayup (Sarah), and daughter Lauren Montes (Jesus) as well as his six grandsons and three granddaughters. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Ayup, brother James Ayup and sister Karen Ayup.
William attended Rincon High school and enlisted in the United States Navy, where he spent six years as a gunner's mate during the Vietnam war, where he served a full tour from 1968-1969. After serving in the United States Navy, he was back home in Tucson, Arizona where he tended bar for 17 years, at their family-owned establishment known as JoJo's Cocktail lounge. His career took a different turn, and he drove a concrete truck for 32 years and finished his career in 2016.
He went on to enjoy life and do what he loved most, camping, hunting, fishing, relaxing at home, taking care of his beloved fruit trees, and spending time with his family. He was a loving, caring father, husband, and Papa. A stubborn tough, soul, full of love but didn't show much emotion, always making everyone laugh and having something out of the ordinary to say. All those who were blessed to know him will always remember him.
