It is with heavy hearts that his family announces the passing of their husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, William Suarez Coronado. Born to Joe and Stella Coronado in Tucson Arizona February 16, 1952. He graduated from Sunnyside High School, Class of 1970. He joined the Arizona National Guard in February of 1971-1976. Bill joined the Air Force full time in February 1977, studying to be an Radiologist Technician. He truly loved his job and his military family. He served in Sheppard AFB in Texas, Travis AFB in California, both at Luke and Davis-Monthan AFB in Arizona, Wurtsmith AFB in Michigan, Ramstein AFB in Germany, went back to California, stationed at Castle AFB. Everywhere we moved, he made life long friends. Paul Pippin was his best friend. Our last duty station was here at Davis-Monthan, where he retired. He proudly served the Air Force for 20 years, retiring in September 1996. His retirement lasted 10 days. He saw an ad for a Bilingual X-ray tech and applied. He was hired at Sunnyside Medi Center. He loved Dr. Thrasher and all his “wives” at Sunnyside Medi Center and worked there 21 years until his death. Preceded in death by Joe Coronado, Stella Coronado, Joey Coronado, Reyes and Artemisa Suarez, his beloved grandparents. His uncles Armando Suarez and Reyes (San) Suarez and his father-in-law Arturo Serna. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Yvonne Albertson Coronado, his daughters, Angel Yvonne and Selene Marie Coronado, his grandson “The Boy!”Fabien Figueroa, his granddaughter “Princess Piaola” Ilyana Aurora Figueroa. His daughters “Blockie” Alexandra Serna and family and Christina (Jay) Lapitan and family. Also survived by his brother Michael (Pat) Coronado and nieces and nephews. Gabriel (Sandy) Coronado and nephews. Marcella “Marcie” Coronado. His mother-in-law Josefina Serna, his brother-in-laws, Frank Albertson, Harold (Kelly) Albertson and family, Albert (Mary) Serna and family, Arturo Serna Jr. and family, Julio Caesar (Sagrario) Serna, and his sister-in-law Elizabeth (Dale Nelson) Serna. His Sunnyside family-Dr. Dennis and Leighann Thrasher, Margie, Yvette, Julie and Dolores. We would like to thank all the Doctors at Banner UMC Hospital, and the Doctors and nurses in the emergency room that worked very hard to bring him back to us. A special call-out to the wonderful group of nurses and technicians on the Neurology and the Oncology wards that took very good care of Bill. Thank you for your compassion, patience and excellent care you showed him and his family. There will be a viewing at Martinez Funeral Chapel on 30 November, starting at 5 PM till 9 PM. Procession line up will start at Martinez Funeral Chapel at 10 AM Services and internment will be at the Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Marana on December 1, at 1200.
