William E. Lawrence, 95, of Rio Rico, AZ died at home on October 4th, 2017 after a brief illness. He was born in Danbury, CT on August 22, 1922, son of the late Courtland and Nora (Costello) Lawrence. He graduated from Danbury High School and worked for the Southern New England Telephone Company as a Cable Splicer. Before entering World War 2 in 1942, he married his high school sweetheart Yolanda Octavio. They were married until her death after a long illness in 1980. He served 3 years in the War and was honorably discharged in 1945. After the War he continued to work for the phone company and retired after 30+ years. He also spent 17 years at the Bethel CT school system where he retired a few years before moving to AZ in 1991. Survivors include his daughter Ann M. Pugner and son Jeffrey Lawrence, both of Rio Rico, AZ, four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two great great-grandchildren. Plans are for Mr. Lawrence to have his remains buried at a Veterans Cemetery in AZ.
