Helen Ruth Simmons

Helen Ruth Simmons was born May 24, 1941 in Waco, Texas.  She attended school at Prairie View University and Durham Business College and later worked for the University of Arizona Student Services and the Forum of Tucson for many years.  Helen Ruth was united in matrimony to Willie Edward Simmons on September 25, 1964. In this union they had 6 children and was preceded in death by 3 of her children; Stephanie, Rodney and Christina. She is survived by her daughters; Alissha Carrathers and Angela Simmons; son, Mark Simmons; grandchildren, Richard and Rachel Grigbsy, Joshua Parrish, Asia Brown, C.J. and Andrew Harrell, Mark Jr, Nissi, Tamani, Markell, Marquise, Tria, Chynna Simmons and Aynssa Manning; sisters, Madria Williams and Clyde Hartsfield; a host of great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Her hobbies were  Eureka Club, Harvest Fellowship, Mission and Ministry, Benevolent Ministry, Prison Ministry. She was a sweet, loving, caring person who always was willing to lend a helping hand. Pallbearers will be Richard Grigbsy, Joshua Parrish, Andrew Harrell,C.J Harrell, Marquise Simmons, Jd. Dennie, Mark Jr. Simmons, and Ricky Manning. Arrangements entrusted to Martinez Funeral Chapels.
